Come Dive with US
Join Bodega Bay Pro Dive as we freedive / spearfish some of the most prestigious waters in the Pacific ocean. Three trips to choose from, ranging in prices and dates, we're sure to have something that will work for you. Alijos Rocks in November, targeting large pelagics. San Benitos in June, targeting yellowtail and white sea bass. Last but not least, Cortes Bank in October. This trip will target pelagics, yellowtail, white sea bass, and some of the biggest Lobster in the sea. Last year was amazing. Be sure to join us this year as we board the M/V Islander out of San Diego for some great diving.
10" Abalone Club
Join Bodega Bay Pro Dives' 10" Abalone club... Stop by the shop and show off your big trophy ab. To enter the raffle all you need to do is bring in the abalone still in it's shell and have it measured. We will enter your name into the monthly drawing for great prizes like 10" ab gauges, wet-suits, spearguns, masks, and fins. Your picture will be added to this websites 10inch ab page, and you have a chance at some great prizes. So get out there and find those trophies.

Welcome to Bodega Bay pro Dive!
Bodega Bay Pro Dive was established in 1990, to serve the Sonoma Coast Diving Community. It has been owned and operated by Lou Castleberry, since 1995. In 2006, Ben Black joined the operation as a partner.
Lou Castleberry has spent his life in Sonoma County. After making his first abalone dive at the age of 12, he was hooked. After getting SCUBA certified in 1989, he has dove all over the North American continent, diving in California, Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean. In 1994 Lou received a Degree in Marine Biology from Sonoma State University. The following year Lou purchase Bodega Bay Pro Dive.
Bodega Bay Pro Dive at that time was a small shop serving both SCUBA and abalone divers on the Sonoma Coast. Starting in 1999 the focus for Lou’s diving and that of Bodega Bay Pro Dive, switched from SCUBA diving to Freediving/Spearfishing, with annual trips to Baja, the California Channel Islands and the Sonoma Coast. Lou is a firefighter in Bodega Bay, and when he is not “On Duty” he enjoys spending time with his family, diving or fishing on the Sonoma Coast, or with friends and customers Spearfishing in Mexico.
Ben Black joined the Bodega Bay Pro Dive team in 2004 as the shop manager. In 2006 he became a partner, bringing a new perspective and a new client group to the shop. Ben has a background in Graphic Design, and his talents are seen on this website as well as in Tee-Shirt designs for the shop. He is also a volunteer firefighter with Bodega Bay Fire. Ben has been free diving since a little kid in Hawaii, and enjoys diving Hawaii, the Sonoma Coast, Baja, and the Philippines. Ben got certified to SCUBA dive in 2005 and continues to learn and progress down that road. Always looking for a better way to build and use new and improved spear fishing gear, Ben is always listening to customers’ suggestions.
